The internet is one of the greatest innovations of all time. Its use has become a part of everyday life; from business, to banking, news, social media, education, science, and everything in-between.
While most of us remember a time when the internet was not around or so heavily relied upon – children and teens have not seen a world without this powerful tool. Many parents admit that their children know more than them about technology and the internet.
This can be an uncomfortable truth considering the large number of threats that come with being connected to the World Wide Web.
The internet can be a dangerous place for children and teens. These dangers can range from inappropriate content and cyber bullying to online predators. In fact, a recent study says about 21% of students ages 12-18 have experienced cyber bullying.
When a client recently asked us about what they could do to keep their children safe when using the internet, we decided to take it upon ourselves to create a guide to better educate, prepare, and equip parents for today’s digital world.
Below you will find a list of curated resources and a downloadable guide that will help you learn more about the topic of online safety and what you can do to better protect your kids.
